The ideal candidate will be able to perform conventional and complex bridge and structure designs, load ratings, and bridge inspections as well as enjoy involvement in the development and teaching of state-of-the-art bridge training material.What You'll Do:Performing and managing structure tasks on conventional and complex multi-discipline projects from design through constructionPerforming and managing structure load ratings on conventional and complex bridges using hand calculations through finite element methodsStrong technical ability able to lead, perform, and check bridge and structure designs to ensure accuracy with design codes and client requirementsAbility to coordinate and communicate with other disciplines effectivelyDevelopment of and adherence to scope, schedule and budget for structure tasksAbility to support bridge and structure proposal development through strong technical writingAbility to develop creative and innovative cost saving modifications to conventional designs through construction/value engineering opportunitiesAbility to lead bridge inspectionsAbility to develop and teach bridge design training courses and reference manualsWhat You Need to Succeed:Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering from ABET Accredited UniversityMasters of Science in Structural Engineering a plus5+ years of bridge design, analysis, and training material development/teachingIndiana P.E. or ability to obtain within 6 monthsExpert with finite element software and other bridge design softwareExcellent written and oral communication skillsSelf-motivated, flexible, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentStrong organizational and time-management skillsCertified Bridge Safety Inspection (CBSI) preferred.Fracture Critical Inspection certification preferred.This position does not offer sponsorship.CompensationThe approximate compensation range for this position is $78,000 to $128,000. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
