At Old Dominion we are looking for individuals to join the OD Family that will provide innovative solutions and exceed expectations to keep OD the premier transportation solutions provider.Leads the Human Resources function for their respective area service centers by providing guidance for employee relations, ensuring consistent policy and procedure application, including progressive discipline, problem resolution, leadership development classes and on-boarding to maximize employee engagement.Primary ResponsibilitiesProvide guidance for employee relations, ensuring consistent policy and procedure application, including progressive discipline, problem resolution and on-boarding to maximize employee engagementGuide day-to-day decisions about employees and foster behaviors which are consistent with OD’s values and service excellence expectationsProactively monitor employee/labor relations issues, ensuring effective communication with employees, enhancing management-employee interactionAssist Corporate HR recruiting group in establishing and maintaining relationships with local high schools and colleges by participating in job fairs and recruiting eventsRecruit, interview, and work with Service Center Managers in filling open positions and support with the Succession Planning processManage the employee onboarding and orientation process, including conducting sessions and working with the Regional HRD Manager and corporate management to advise of needed changesHandle and respond to questions regarding benefits, pay and time-off policies, etc.Provide local level support for FMLA/disability process adherence with corporate HR leave of absence teamAssist Corporate HR benefits, leave of absence and compensation groups with implementation of programsProvide counsel and leadership in human resources decisions, procedures and programs, act as a liaison for feedback and communication between the regional HR manager and the regional operations management teamCreate and facilitate employee and leadership training on an ongoing basisProvide guidance and training on WorkDay processesJob QualificationsEducation:Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Human Resources Management and/or related fieldPHR or SPHR certification preferredExperience:5 years of experience as a Human Resources ManagerExperience with labor relations in the transportation industryKnowledge of DOT regulations preferredWorking knowledge of federal, state, and local employment lawDemonstrated interpersonal, organizational, facilitation and coaching skillsDemonstrated creative problem solving and sound decision-makingExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficient with Microsoft OfficeCompensation Range:The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training, skill level, and state/local wage requirements.($86,391-$107,988)Working Days:Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday,Friday,Working Shift:Shift and hours to be determined.Work Days and Shift are estimates and are subject to change, at any given time, based on job scheduling and/or business levels.
