Senior Operations Director, Fleet and Logistics

This leadership role is responsible for developing and executing transportation and fleet strategies across North America to improve profitability, service, safety, and operational performance. The position oversees fleet assets, compliance, transportation planning, and continuous improvement initiatives while providing executive-level analytics, strategic counsel, and cross-functional leadership to drive sustainable growth and operational excellence. This role also has operational responsibility for CTS National Fleet, which includes 120+ drivers responsible for moving interwarehouse freight and production loads between sites/plants across North America. In addition this role is responsible for managing the CTS bulk tank wagon fleet. This team moves bulk liquid raw materials from vendors and suppliers to our North American architectural plants. Additional Information: 50% Travel This position is also eligible for bonus and long-term incentive compensation awards based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company's applicable plans. North America Transportation Strategic Initiatives - Collaborate with Regional CTS Transportation Managers to drive strategic growth in the following areas: Fleet Growth / Profitability - Identify ideal markets to expand local fleet operations in a challenging driver hiring environment and increase overall fleet profitability Service - Partner with key stake holders to leverage CTS assets for improved service to both internal and external customers Optimize freight & transportation for both regional fleet and National operator-owned fleet Innovation - Identify area where technology can be leveraged to reduce costs or minimize accidents and injuries Provide strategic counsel, analytics, and executive reporting on workforce, operational, transportation, sustainability, and fleet performance to support business decision-making Standardization of systems, tools and processes used to manage CTS operations Direct National CTS rates for all regions Build strong relationships with executive leadership, field operations, vendors, customers, and employees to drive engagement, safety, service excellence, and adoption of strategic initiatives Fleet / Non-CTS Equipment: Direct Procurement of company owned fleet assets Direct oversight of CTS fleet ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations Manage the timely and cost-effective disposal process of all terminated fleet assets Direct field Maintenance Managers on equipment maintenance and required DOT record keeping Collaborate with Driver Safety Committees and field personnel regarding equipment specifications Prudent price negotiation related to short-term equipment leasing and parts procurement Ensure that the fleet is prepared for future-state advancements CTS Continuous Improvement Projects Prioritize and lead Division driven CIP's that impact both CTS Regional and CTS National operations. Maintain parking lot list of potential fleet related projects Focus on continuity of support for EPS, Packaging and Coil in addition to Architectural Manage the CTS Sales Director and ensure that empty mileage on the fleet is minimized to drive profitability Direct fleet asset management, including vehicles, telematics, mobile technology, software, and related equipment, while managing associated budgets, expenditures, and performance standards Trans-planning Direct the standardization of the load planning process in JDA Measure and drive improvement of fleet utilization and compliance of TMS route optimization Leverage TMS system capabilities for fleet analysis Fleet/Transportation Ensure that CTS rates are in line with market LTL and TL rates Identify concerning trends pertaining to fleet performance or profitability Measure and report fleet operational performance on a monthly basis Support the Fleet Operations for CTS in the following areas DOT Compliance Serve as the Corporate Representative for CTS in all DOT related legal matters Accident and injury mitigation within the fleet Proper systems, tools, processes to manage fleet growth safely Minimum Requirements: Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future Must have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain Must have at least seven (7) years of experience in Fleet Management, Safety, Asset Procurement, and DOT Regulations Must have experience of visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or SAP BO Preferred Qualifications: Have a Master's degree or higher Have DOT Safety Training / Certification Have at least ten (10) years of experience in Fleet Management, Safety, Asset Procurement, and DOT Regulations Have experience working with MIRA, Samsara, TMW, and JDA TMS #J-18808-Ljbffr The Sherwin-Williams Company
