Inspect and prioritize maintenance needs, plan and execute projects related to landscaping, weed/pest management, facility infrastructure, and safety compliance. Operate and maintain the park’s Fleet vehicle program, order, purchase materials and supplies within budget, and submit required reports. Lead and supervise temporary maintenance personnel and volunteers, including hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, and conflict resolution. Prepare and maintain accurate program documentation: work plans, progress reports, employee paperwork, requests for bids, fleet reporting, fuel usage reports, and chemical applications. Communicate regularly with park management, State Park teams, Fleet staff, outside agencies, partners, and the public. Provide public relations support by interacting with visitors, answering questions, and promoting park activities. Maintain required certifications for water system operators, pesticide/herbicide applicators, and other park system qualifications; attend annual training. Ensure compliance with OSHA, ADA, and other applicable regulations. Minimum Qualifications At least four years of experience in construction, carpentry, equipment/machinery operation, farming, ranching, range land management, wildlife/habitat management, resource management, landscaping, facility maintenance/management, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or a related occupational field. No formal college education required, but experience must be adequately demonstrated in application. Willingness to obtain and maintain required certifications such as Class C Water Operator License. Preferred Qualifications Current or former State experience relevant to this position. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Teamwork ability. Conditions of Employment State of Colorado residency required at the time of application. Valid Colorado driver’s license if operating a State vehicle; compliance with Fleet driving requirements. Driving background check required. Overnight travel for annual statewide training is rare.
