Department Kirmayer Fitness Center Kirmayer Fitness Center - Student Staff Position Title KUMC Student Worker - Kirmayer Intramural Official Job Family Group Students & GRA/GTA/GA Job Description Summary Intramural Officials are responsible for effectively officiating intramural sports contests and the general safety of the participants. They must attend officials’ meeting and clinic(s). Must be knowledgeable in general Intramural policies and procedures. Job Description Job Duties Outlined Pre-game court / field set up. Ensures fair and consistent officiating by applying sport-specific training and established standards. Verify score of all games worked with signature. Assist game monitors with assigning sportsmanship grades to each team. Assist officials / supervisors in any matters concerning game worked. Assist in training of new officials. Possible assistance with special events and field maintenance. Work Environment: This position will work mainly afternoon / evening hours Monday-Friday, various weekend hours, with possible early morning hours. Required Qualifications Education: Must be a currently enrolled student at the University of Kansas Medical Center. This position requires enrollment in a formal degree in the cited discipline area(s) to ensure that candidates have advanced knowledge, analytical skills and professional competencies necessary to perform the duties of the position. The level of degree is commonly recognized as the standard qualification for similar roles in the public and private sector, ensuring that the university remains competitive with industry aligned practices, enhances collaboration with external partners, and supports the delivery of services and programs that meet professional and market-driven expectations. Certification: Student staff are expected to maintain current CPR/AED certification. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
