Most importantly, Centric prides itself on helping make Kansas City a cooler place to live, work, and play by building our city and its stories...from the ground up.The Carpenter position performs various field labor tasks during the construction phase of Crossroads Construction projects.Essential Job FunctionsPerform basic labor and/or carpentry tasks at a job site or in regard to a special project assignmentMeasures, marks, and arranges materials to layout based on blueprints or instructions from the supervisorAssists in solving problems related to layout, conflicts, coordination with other trades, and prefabricated panel system installation.Maintain a construction site that is well-organized and clear of debrisLoad and unload construction materials to assist in job site progressUse various hand and power tools to securely build assigned projectsJoins materials with the most appropriate nail, screw, staple, or adhesiveUtilize light industrial equipment to complete larger labor tasks as directed by the onsite Superintendent or other members of field managementErects and dismantles scaffoldingInstalls windows and doorsUtilize knowledge of all local, state, and federal safety regulations to ensure labor tasks are completed in a safe mannerQualifications and RequirementsBasic QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED requiredA valid driver's license is requiredOSHA-10 certification is required within 30 days of employmentTwo (2) years of previous work experience in a construction-related fieldKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to understand directions and read blueprintsAbility to properly care for and use tools of the tradeWorks well as part of a teamDemonstrates an ability to prioritize tasksStrong initiative and is able to accomplish tasks with minimal manager supervisionMaintains composure and professionalism in difficult situations and effectively resolves conflictsDemonstrates innovative problem-solving and is able to consider all facts of the matter to be resolvedEmbraces technology and is able to use it in ways that improve the experience of Centric associatesPhysical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of is job.
