Job Title: Vendor Engineer - Cellular / WWAN Validation & Debug
Location: Redmond, WA
Onsite/ Hybrid/ Remote: Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Perform end-to-end device validation for cellular technologies including LTE, 5G (SA/NSA) features
- Execute and analyze lab and field testing across multiple carriers and network conditions
- Conduct protocol-level debugging using logs (QXDM, MBIM traces, modem logs, etc.)
- Identify, isolate, and root-cause cellular connectivity issues (attach, call drops, data failures, standby behavior)
- Work with internal teams and vendors to triage bugs and drive issues to closure
- Support regression validation and sanity verification.
- Generate test reports, defect summaries, and RCA documentation
- Contribute to improving test coverage, automation, and validation frameworks
Required Skills & Experience
Core Technical Skills
- Strong protocol knowledge (3GPP - LTE/5G signaling, NAS/RRC basics, IMS/SIP flows)
- Device testing experience (smartphones, modems, or embedded systems)
- Hands-on experience with cellular test equipment (e.g., call boxes like Anritsu, Keysight, Rohde & Schwarz)
- Experience in log analysis and debugging tools (e.g., QXDM, modem logs, trace analysis)
- Good understanding of cellular call flows, attach procedures, and data connectivity
- Working knowledge of scripting (Python / PowerShell / Bash) for test automation, log parsing, or workflow efficiency
