Job Title: PACU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Duration: 18 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: BCLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: Level 1 trauma experience Telemetry experience First-time travelers accepted upon screening Description: Must work 2 out of 3 holiday bundles: Thanksgiving and the day after, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. No RQI certifications accepted. Pre/Post Cath lab procedures required. Pre/Post IR procedures required. COVID vaccine is optional; reporting is required for COVID vaccine numbers. Patient ratios in PACU are 1:2. Will float to the Holding area in the PACU department, where patient ratios may vary from 1:3 to 1:5. Must be willing to perform pre-operative tasks. One weekend shift per month is required. 1 to 2 call shifts overnight per month (4-week schedule). Daily census exceeds 35 cases, covering a diverse patient age group, including neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Interdisciplinary support available in several areas. Special procedures include general surgery, robotic surgery, open heart, kidney transplant, ortho, neuro, urology, and more. Highly recommend candidates with Phase II PACU experience and accustomed to increased nurse-to-patient ratios. Limited pediatric experience may be considered. Screening required for missing qualifications.
