Senior Associate, Sponsor and Specialty Finance - Technology & Infrastructure

Vice President – T&I Group Responsibilities New Deal Underwriting Screen new deal opportunities and provide quick feedback to senior team members. Lead all aspects of the new deal underwriting and diligence process, including: Identifying all key risks. Reviewing data room materials and third‑party reports. Leading diligence calls with sponsors, management, and third‑party firms. Conducting independent research. Mentor and oversee junior deal team members (Analysts & Associates) and their work, including the financial projection model. Manage internal approval process, ensuring timely completion of investment committee approval write‑ups and adherence to Webster’s underwriting policies. Lead investment committee approval meetings and answer diligence‑related questions. Review and negotiate closing legal documents with borrowers and/or sponsors. Manage internal loan closing process (including KYC) to ensure smooth and timely closing for all counterparties. Portfolio Management for ~10‑15 Existing Borrowers Act as a key touchpoint for management and/or sponsors, holding quarterly update calls with CFOs to obtain qualitative performance updates. Mentor junior team members on sound portfolio management practices. Ensure: appropriate borrower risk ratings each quarter; timely receipt of borrowers’ financials and accurate compliance certificates; accurate entry of financials and credit KPIs into the bank’s portfolio management platform; completion of quarterly, semi‑annual, and/or annual reviews; proper maintenance of borrower credit files; adherence to internal portfolio management policies; higher‑level involvement on problem credits. Lead all upsizes, amendments, and waivers for existing borrowers. Travel up to 4‑6 times per year for borrower, sponsor, and industry events. Qualifications BS/BA in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. 5‑7 years of work experience in Accounting, Finance, Banking, or comparable roles (or Master’s degree plus 1‑3 years). Experience in sponsor finance or leveraged loan transactions. Ability to answer unstructured business questions and work independently to complete tasks. Strong analytical skills and proficiency with financial statements. Strong organizational skills. Team collaboration and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. Superior written and verbal communication skills. Financial modeling experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to travel. Preferred Qualifications Tech or infrastructure industry experience at an investment bank or other institution. Graduate of a formalized credit training program. CFA or CPA professional certifications. MBA. Compensation The estimated base salary range for this position is $125,000.00 to $140,000.00. Actual salary may vary based on job‑related factors. The position is eligible for incentive compensation.
