Dixon Correctional Institute seeks a highly organized and motivated Administrative Coordinator 4 to join our team in supporting the daily operations of a secure, all-male correctional facility. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth functioning of administrative processes that directly impact staff, offenders, and institutional effectiveness. The successful candidate will bring strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex tasks in a fast-paced environment while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications

Three years of experience in administrative services. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

  • Executes complex departmental and program responsibilities in strict compliance with established rules, regulations, and institutional policies.
  • Coordinates and facilitates communication between the department and internal staff, external agencies, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure efficient operations.
  • Serves as the primary liaison for the office, maintaining professional relationships and ensuring timely exchange of information across departments and with outside partners.
  • Provides direct administrative support to management, including maintaining calendars, scheduling appointments, arranging travel, preparing correspondence, and issuing directives on behalf of leadership.
  • Assists in streamlining administrative processes by independently handling routine matters, allowing managers to focus on higher-level decision-making.
  • Ensures accuracy and confidentiality in all documentation, reporting, and record-keeping related to institutional operations.

Position-Specific Details :

Appointment Type: PROBATION, or PROMOTION OF A PERMANENT, CLASSIFIED LOUISIANA STATE EMPLOYEE

  • Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted.
  • An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.
  • This posting may also be used to fill a vacancy as a temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.

  • This is a 24-hour facility.
