Mobile Automotive Technician - Budget Truck - FT

What You’ll Do Perform standard and complex mechanical repairs on a fleet of cargo vans and box trucks with minimal technical supervision. Carry out preventive maintenance, oil and fluid services, tire repairs, brake and suspension work, electrical diagnostics, and warranty‑related repairs based on your skill level. Travel to vehicle locations for mobile repair duties, diagnosing and resolving issues to get customers back on the road quickly. Operate Budget Trucks on public roads as required for repair or transport activities. Apply diesel and medium‑duty expertise to new‑vehicle models across multiple manufacturers to reduce downtime and improve reliability. Minimum of 2 years of experience performing mechanical repairs and diagnostics on medium‑duty or heavy‑duty equipment. At least 1 ASE certification, with the ability to obtain 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year. Working knowledge across ASE areas including: Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, and Light Vehicle/Diesel. Ability to obtain DOT medical clearance. Comfortable working outdoors and in a mechanical shop environment with moderate noise levels. Must have a complete set of tools required for automotive and diesel repair. Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, continuously stand, bend, reach, walk, sit and kneel frequently, enter, exit and drive vehicles. Must be at least 21 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States. Regular, on‑site presence required; this position cannot be performed remotely. Previous OEM experience is preferred and considered a strong advantage.
