EDUCATION AND TRAINING SPECIALIST - 67011703 - SUNLAND - QUALITY SERVICES

Salary: $37,127.79 – $40,840.54 annually Position Summary This Education and Training Specialist will develop, coordinate, conduct, evaluate, and monitor job- and position-specific staff training activities, including classroom and practical instruction, for management and staff of Sunland and community developmental services. Responsibilities Instruct employees in required subjects, ensuring a well‑trained and competent workforce. Serve as third‑shift liaison with Staff Development and adjust schedules to guarantee third‑shift staff receive all required training and updates. Conduct monthly refresher testing and training in assigned units and departments to keep staff current with requirements. Coordinate scheduling for designated training with assigned units and departments, ensuring effective communication and timely completion. Maintain and update curriculum in lead classes, aligning it with Agency’s and Sunland’s mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures. Maintain certifications in CPR and other required subject areas, and pursue additional certifications to meet evolving employee needs. Perform other related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications Must be able to lift 40 lbs independently. Must be able to transfer from a kneeling to a standing position repeatedly. Must present training both verbally and in written form. At least one year of prior teaching or training experience. Preferred: CPR Instructor Certification. Preferred: Mandt Instructor Certification. Preferred: Valid driver’s license. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Skills in effective classroom teaching and presentations. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments independently. Ability to prepare reports using Microsoft Excel and Word. Ability to present presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint.
