As a CNC Lathe Operator, you'll be instrumental in programming, setting up, and producing large, high-torque components on a state-of-the-art machine. You'll work closely with the production team to ensure precision, quality, and efficiency, making a real impact every day. Your skills and adaptability will help the team meet tight deadlines and quality standards while supporting broader production needs.

What You'll Do

As a CNC Lathe Operator, you will be responsible for:

• Leading the programming and optimization of a new Johnford SL-500A lathe, developing and maintaining a library of G-code programs for various heavy-duty parts.
• Performing precise setups, selecting tools, and adjusting offsets to produce large-diameter parts with tight tolerances.
• Utilizing metrology tools like micrometers and bore gauges to ensure all "First Article" and production parts meet engineering specifications.
• Supporting production during downtime by assisting with mechanical assembly, parts picking, and inventory management, exemplifying a team-first attitude.
• Monitoring machine performance, managing tool life, and proactively adjusting programs to maximize uptime and part quality.

What You'll Bring

The ideal candidate will have:

• 3+ years of experience in CNC operating and setup, especially on large-bore or heavy-duty turret lathes, with Johnford experience preferred (also familiar with Doosan Puma, Okuma, or similar machines).
• Expert-level knowledge of Fanuc or comparable G-code controls, with an ability to read complex blueprints and GD&T symbols.
• Hands-on experience with box-way, high-torque machining, and an understanding of vibration and thermal stability management in large-scale parts.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
• A proactive, flexible mindset with the confidence to troubleshoot independently as the primary expert on this new equipment.

Location & Schedule:

This position is on-site in Kent, Ohio, and offers a regular first-shift schedule from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
