Role Description Staff Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater New Orleans Region. This role is responsible for daily accounting activities, including accounts payable and receivable processing, general ledger entries, bank and account reconciliations, and maintenance of accurate financial records. The Staff Accountant prepares and assists with financial reports, supports month-end and year-end close processes, and helps ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards. The role involves collaborating with project managers and office staff to track project costs, manage billing, and support budgeting and forecasting activities. The Staff Accountant also assists with audits, maintains organized documentation, and contributes to process improvements in the accounting function. Qualifications Demonstrated proficiency in core accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations. Experience using accounting software and spreadsheets (e.g., QuickBooks or similar systems, Microsoft Excel) to manage and analyze financial data. Ability to prepare and review financial reports, support month-end and year-end closing, and maintain accurate, organized records. Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills to identify discrepancies and support reliable financial information. Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with project managers, office staff, and leadership in a construction-related environment. Capability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality in handling financial and payroll information. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
