Assistant Athletic Trainer

Responsibilities Works under the direct supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer and under the direction of standing orders while implementing the following: Management of acute injury or illness to athlete Rehabilitation procedures Operation of therapeutic devices and equipment Application of braces, guards, tape, and other devices Referrals to the physician, health services, or hospital Maintains appropriate documentation for student injuries and treatment per professional and regulatory standards Multitasks and prioritizes student needs and program responsibilities in an organized and timely manner Communicates effectively in high-pressure situations when talking to coaches, patients, medical professionals, staff, and families Assists with transporting boarding students to medical appointments Qualifications Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Athletic Training and must be certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification Athletic Training Licensure from the state of Pennsylvania Required to complete Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills This is a 10‑month, full-time position from August‑early June with weekend responsibilities and weekend travel in the fall.
