Job Title: Production Supervisor Job Description

The Production Supervisor leads day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role drives a culture of safety and continuous improvement, manages shift production plans to meet output and delivery targets, and develops a reliable, engaged team that consistently achieves performance goals.

• Promote and enforce safe working practices throughout the plant by adhering to safety policies, proactively managing risks, and taking a zero-tolerance approach to unsafe behaviors.
• Support and develop an engaged, participatory workforce that collaborates effectively as a team to achieve shared operational goals.
• Set clear expectations for product quality by implementing robust training and assessment methods and ensuring standardized work practices are followed.
• Use data and continuous improvement tools to drive process enhancements and improve product quality and consistency.
• Develop and maintain labor utilization plans to achieve targeted cost of production goals while maintaining efficiency and quality.
• Own the shift production plan and ensure On Time In Full (OTIF) delivery performance at greater than 95%.
• Achieve daily and weekly output targets across each production cell and adjust resources as needed to meet demand.
• Implement strong people management practices to build a reliable and competent team, addressing underperformance promptly and constructively.
• Champion operational excellence within the manufacturing areas and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Use technology and IT systems to support production improvements, track performance, and report on key metrics.
• Demonstrate self-motivation and a strong work ethic by following production plans and ensuring tasks are completed on time.
• Provide clear, assertive direction to team members and manage performance to achieve high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
• Apply effective problem-solving skills and attention to detail when addressing production issues, equipment concerns, or quality deviations.
• Utilize people management techniques to coach, develop, and motivate team members, promoting accountability and engagement.
• Oversee machine operation, setup, and quality inspection activities to ensure equipment is used safely and effectively.
• Ensure proper use of computer-controlled equipment, including CNC and related systems, to maintain consistent and accurate production.

• Minimum 4 years of experience in a production supervision role.
• At least 10 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong IT skills, including proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Experience with machine operating in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to perform and oversee quality inspection activities.
• Experience with machine setup and changeovers.
• Experience with computer-controlled equipment, including CNC systems.
• Supervisory skills with the ability to lead, direct, and develop a production team.
• Understanding of 5S principles and standardized work practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to use technology and IT systems to support production improvements.
• Self-motivation and a strong work ethic with the ability to follow and execute production plans.
• Assertive communication and people management skills to achieve high performance standards.

• Experience implementing or supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with operational excellence methodologies and tools.
• Comfort working with data to identify trends, drive process improvements, and monitor performance.
• Ability to coach and mentor team members to build skills and improve performance.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple production cells and shifting priorities.
• Capability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams such as maintenance, quality, and planning.

This is a Permanent position based out of Orangeburg, SC.

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $65000.00/yr.
