Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory Therapist Specialty: Cardiopulmonary Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 5 years current RRT required License: Michigan Registered Respiratory Therapist License in good standing Certifications: Active RRT Certification, American Heart Association BLS, American Heart Association ACLS Must-Have: SORRY, CRT'S WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS NEED Experience with EKG, Stress tests, Holter Monitors, Event Monitors, and EEGs preferred Traveler must have their own vehicle Description: Perform all aspects of respiratory care clinically and diagnostically that the department provides. This includes adult ventilator care and critical care assessment, EKGs, general floor therapy, and working with Neopuff support of newborns. Responsibilities include arterial blood gas access, pulmonary function testing, stress testing, and holter monitoring/scanning. Requested time off during the course of this assignment must be noted before submission. No more than 5 days of time off will be accepted, with less being preferred. Consistently use an outward mindset and put forth exemplary effort in accomplishing goals and objectives. Assume responsibility for first-line supervision of Certified Therapists in the absence of the director. Perform and evaluate bedside spirometry and pulmonary function tests. Execute arterial blood gas punctures and perform EKGs and holter scanning. Conduct and evaluate EKG stress testing if trained. Perform critical care ventilation and assessment. Determine appropriateness of prescribed therapy and goals for identified pathophysiological states. Conduct prescribed therapeutic procedures. Collect and evaluate additional pertinent clinical information through inspection, palpation, percussion, auscultation, and patient interview. Cerner experience is strongly preferred. Dress code requires black scrubs. Every other weekend and holidays may be required if needed. Work history, skills checklist, and supervisory references from within the past two years of employment are required.
