BILINGUAL BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CLINICIAN (THERAPIST) The Center on Juvenile and Criminal Justice (CJCJ) is a private non-profit organization whose mission is to reduce society's reliance on the use of incarceration as a solution to social problems. We do this through the provision of programs to persons facing imprisonment, education efforts about imprisonment and its effect on people, and technical assistance to entities wishing to establish and/or evaluate programs working with those facing imprisonment. For more information, visit our website at CJCJ’s Community Options for Youth (COY) program is seeking a dedicated and energetic bilingual (Spanish speaking) clinician who will provide community-based behavioral/mental health services to youth and their families impacted by the criminal justice system. The program is aimed at stabilizing a youth and family by providing direct clinical interventions and pulling formal and informal supports together for the common purpose of addressing chronic and acute mental health needs, safety concerns, and other identified needs which present as barriers to being successful in their community. 424 Guerrero Street San Francisco, CA 94110 415 621-5661 415 621-5466 fax This position reports directly to CJCJ’s Director of Behavioral Health. This is an hourly non-exempt position. Anticipated weekly hours are 40 hours/week but can be negotiated to fewer if desired. Qualifications Bilingual (Spanish speaking) Master's degree (or soon to be graduates) in social work, counseling, psychology or related field, licensed or licensed eligible by Board of Behavioral Sciences (ASW, AMFT, APCC, registered interns in an approved graduate program, waivered PhD/PsyD) Experience providing individual, group, and family therapy and/or clinical case management services utilizing strengths-based approaches, harm reduction techniques, and trauma-informed care preferred Familiarity with EPSDT and Medi-Cal documentation and billing practices preferred Familiarity with the juvenile justice system and/or experience working with justice-involved youth and families preferred Familiarity with San Francisco Public Health Department’s Child, Youth and Families System of Care preferred Willingness and ability to provide behavioral/mental health support services in non-traditional community-based settings such as schools, homes, and public spaces Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills Basic computer skills Possess and maintain a valid California Driver's License and a positive driving record and maintain access to a registered and insured vehicle to use in carrying out your job duties Must be able to pass background check for working with youth Adaptable, flexible and committed to CJCJ's mission Ability to work under pressure and independently with an excellent sense of humor Duties and responsibilities Provide community-based behavioral/mental health treatment services including but not limited to: conducting assessments, diagnosing, treatment plan development, provide individual and family therapy, facilitate Child and Family Team meetings, provide resource brokerage and referrals, case coordination and advocacy, develop safety plans and provide crisis interventions, and provide follow-up and aftercare Complete all medical record and billing documentation in a timely fashion and in accordance with documentation standards set forth by the agency and the San Francisco Department of Public Health Develop relationships with community based service providers, public defenders and private attorneys, the juvenile courts and juvenile probation department personnel, and school district support persons Attend court hearings and provide court reports and testimony as needed Participate in case consultation meetings, clinical supervision and staff trainings Participate in the PURQC committee which reviews overall clinical work of cases Other duties as assigned Benefits CJCJ offers a competitive salary of $39.50/hour (DOE), excellent comprehensive benefits, a casual work environment, hybrid home/office work options, and a great team of committed professionals.
