Clinical Intern

Are you eager to gain hands‑on experience in a private practice setting while receiving supervision from licensed professionals? At Encourage Counseling, we are committed to supporting the next generation of therapists by offering a structured, supportive, and growth‑oriented internship experience. We are looking for interns who are outgoing, engaging, and culturally competent, with a strong interest in couples therapy and relationship dynamics. Strong work ethic and reliability are essential, as we expect professionalism in scheduling, documentation, and client interactions. Above all, we seek interns who are compassionate and client‑centered and genuinely invested in helping clients navigate relationships, emotional challenges, and personal growth. Interns must be available for a minimum of 15 client sessions per week, across at least 3‑5 hour shifts, including evenings or weekends. This internship offers a unique opportunity to train in relationship‑focused therapy while working with adults (18+) in an online setting. Required Skills & Qualifications Currently enrolled in a Master’s program in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field Eligible for an internship as part of a graduate program with faculty approval Strong interest in couples therapy, relational dynamics, and systems work Excellent communication & interpersonal skills—especially in high‑conflict couples work Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines Willingness to receive and implement constructive feedback Experience with EHR systems or comfort learning new software (we use Jane App) Job Requirements Minimum 15 client sessions per week with availability for at least 3‑5 hour shifts, including evenings or weekends. Engage in additional training & professional development in couples counseling techniques such as the Gottman Method, EFT, and Systems Therapy.
