Role Description This is a contract, on-site Newborn Night Nurse (RN) role based in the NYC Metropolitan area, providing in-home overnight care to newborns and support to their families. The nurse will monitor the newborn's feeding patterns, sleep, and overall comfort throughout the night, documenting observations and communicating any concerns to parents and appropriate healthcare providers. Responsibilities include feeding or assisting with feeding, diaper changes, soothing, and implementing safe sleep practices in accordance with current clinical guidelines. The nurse will educate and coach caregivers on newborn care, breastfeeding or bottle-feeding, and recovery support, while maintaining a calm, professional presence in the home environment. The role also involves adhering to all clinical protocols, infection control standards, and privacy regulations, and collaborating with HUDDLE's care coordination team to ensure consistent, high-quality service.

Schedule: Variable, day shift/night shift, 4-12 hoursAvailability for 6 weeks to 6 months per case depending on family request; can split assignment with another RN and coordinate schedules with family

1099 contractor position

Rate based on education and experience, $42-55/hour

Must be willing to complete background check and drug screen as part of hiring process

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York (or eligibility for licensure), with strong clinical skills in newborn and postpartum care.
• 5+ years experience in neonatal, postpartum, pediatric, or maternal-child health settings, including infant assessment, feeding, and sleep support.
• Experience supporting breastfeeding families, CLC or IBCLC preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated ability to provide in-home care, including independent decision-making, professional boundaries, and respect for diverse family values and cultures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to educate and support caregivers, explain clinical information clearly, and collaborate with the broader care team.
• Ability to work overnight shifts
• Ability to travel within the NYC metropolitan area and adapt to different home environments while maintaining safety standards.
• Basic life support (BLS) or willingness to obtain prior to start date.
• Comfort with documenting care activities and using mobile or electronic tools for charting and communication. xhyhwjd
