Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required | Holidays as Needed

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Medical Surgical unit with a night shift nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6
• Manage a diverse patient population including total joint replacement, spinal surgery, urology procedures, abdominal surgeries (lap appy, bowel resection), bariatrics, and medical overflow
• Care for patients with hemovacs, JP drains, colostomies, PCA pumps, TPN, and occasional heparin drips
• Facilitate early ambulation and post-operative recovery; perform bedside shift report as a standard expectation
• Float to medical and telemetry units as needed, assisting with medical patients in those areas
• Collaborate with charge nurses, patient care techs (1:12 ratio), and remote telemetry monitor techs

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid for practice in the state of North Dakota
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Candidates may not currently hold full-time, part-time, or PRN employment with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity Health
• Requested time off must be submitted upfront; no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Surgical or post-operative nursing experience strongly preferred
• Experience with early ambulation protocols
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
