The University Hospital offers the community state-of-the-art care including for patients presenting with acute psychiatric problems. Services include the only Suffolk County Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP). The Clinical Assistant Professor will be responsible for psychiatric evaluation and management of patients in the CPEP/ED of University Hospital. The Clinical Assistant Professor will also be responsible for teaching and supervision of medical students and residents. Afternoon/Evening Schedule: Shifts totaling 40 hours per week which will consist of (4) 10-hour Afternoon/Evening shifts from 1pm-11pm and includes one weekend shift each week. Weekends and Holidays are required. Cross-coverage as necessary. Salary starting at $336,000 +/ year plus eligibility for moonlighting and our faculty practice after hours program. Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Adult Psychiatry. Clinical experience with Psychiatric patients in a Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program or other Psychiatric Emergency Setting. Track record in teaching experience in Emergency psychiatry. Training in Child Psychiatry. Special Notes Tenure/Non-Tenure Track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. To qualify for tenure and/or a senior faculty appointment, the candidate must meet the criteria established by the School of Medicine (School of Medicine's Criteria for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure).
