Quality Technician 2nd Shift

Quality TechnicianAmsted Automotive Group, SMW Manufacturing, Taylor, Michigan, is looking for a Quality Technician to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for inspecting and verifying product quality by performing dimensional checks, ensuring measurement equipment is calibrated and functioning properly, and confirming parts meet customer, engineering, and quality requirements. Also ensure production, calibration, setups, layouts, and customer returns are properly maintained and identified.What You'll DoExamine material or product for surface defects such as cracks, pits, and burrs and able to tag product when defective.Compares product with parts list or sample model to ensure completion of assembly.Verifies specified dimensions of product or material.Rejects defective parts, and marks type of defect on part, container of parts, or inspection tag.Interprets engineering drawings, diagrams and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance and mechanical characteristics.Operates any diagnostic equipment needed to perform job.Able to take directions and perform all other duties as assigned.What Else You'll Need to KnowHigh School Diploma or EquivalentWork Experience requiredAssociate's degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering preferred; but not requiredAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentProven ability to work well in a team environment and excellent work history.Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and qualityAbility to read and understand blueprints and competence with GD&TAbility to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlinesExcellent verbal, listening and written communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint as well as current technology software familiarity.Proactive, positive attitude, safety and environmentally focused.Ability to regularly stand or work for long periods of time.Ability to regularly lift/or move up to ten (10) pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds, and occasionally lift to fifty (40-50) pounds.Occasionally moderate walking throughout the plant daily.What's In It for YouEmployee Stock Ownership PlanIncentive BonusMedical, Vision, Dental Prescription Drug Plan401KPaid Vacation & HolidaysShort-Term DisabilityTuition ReimbursementHealth and Wellness ReimbursementEmployee RecognitionDiscount Programs
