Job Description
Inspire young minds and help shape a supportive, inclusive school community as a Special Education Teacher working with students in resource classrooms, K-8. This contract opportunity runs from August 2026 through May 2027 and is a chance to make a direct impact, working onsite in the Peoria, AZ area.
Your expertise will empower students on IEPs by delivering engaging instruction and guiding them toward their personal milestones. Collaborate closely with families and fellow educators while managing compliance and ensuring every child receives the support and accommodations they need to thrive.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Arizona Special Education Teacher Certification (current and valid)
- Must obtain and maintain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Comfortable providing both academic and behavioral support to students with diverse needs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for ongoing parent/guardian interaction
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction aligned with each student’s IEP
- Lead case management, including accurate records and compliance with all pertinent regulations
- Develop and deliver a continuum of special education services
- Participate in RtI processes and collaborate with the school team to address individual student needs
- Consult with staff on accommodations, modifications, and implementation of behavior intervention plans
- Offer a consistently safe and positive learning environment
- Communicate regularly with families, offering updates and insights
- Other duties supporting the success of the special education program
