Position Summary:

MJ Daniels is actively seeking a skilled and dependable Brake Press Operator to join our growing team in Johnstown, PA. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in precision work and can operate with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate brings strong experience with press brakes and a solid understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes .

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up, program, and operate manual press brakes to bend and form metal components
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders with a high degree of accuracy
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections to ensure parts meet specifications
• Make real-time machine adjustments to maintain tight tolerances and production efficiency
• Work with a variety of materials and thicknesses in a fabrication environment
• Maintain equipment and ensure a clean, organized, and safe workspace
• Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of brake press experience preferred , with strong emphasis on CNC equipment
• Experience in sheet metal fabrication environments strongly preferred
• Proficiency programming CNC press brakes (such as Trumpf, Amada)
• Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measure, etc.)
• Strong understanding of tolerances and quality control standards
• Knowledge of bending techniques and bending allowances preferred
• Experience setting up tooling, dies, and machine programs preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to troubleshoot machine and tooling issues
• Ability to work independently and maintain high-quality standards
• Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs

Schedule & Pay:

• Full-time position
• Competitive pay based on experience (average salary range is $25-30/hour)
