Land Survey Technician

Job Title Land Survey Technician Location Charleston Metro, Tri‑County Region (Dorchester, Berkeley, Charleston Counties) Job Description This full‑time position involves performing land surveying tasks such as construction layout, as‑built surveys, topographic surveys and boundary surveys. The role requires an individual who is self‑motivated, results oriented, has good math aptitude, a clean driving record and can pass a background check. General Requirements 21 years or older to operate equipment or serve as company driver. Authorization to work in the United States. Ability to work in all weather conditions and adapt to schedule changes. Must wear personal protective gear as specified on each site; long pants, work‑rated boots, and at least a 4‑inch sleeve are required. Reliable transportation to jobs in the tri‑county area. Follow verbal and written instructions in English. Work some evenings, weekends and overtime as needed. Perform repetitive manual labor including standing, sitting, climbing, stooping, bending, twisting, kneeling and lifting heavy items. Be safety conscious and aware of surroundings. Pass pre‑employment drug test and quarterly testing. Some positions require background checks and clean driving records. All new hires begin with a 90‑day probation. Specific Requirements 21 years or older to be an approved driver. At least 5 years driving experience and a clean 10‑year Motor Vehicle Report. Clean background. Preferred experience in survey, topographical and boundary work. Knowledge of Trimble Construction Data Collectors, Robotic Total Stations and GPS systems. Ability to lift and carry equipment. Drive with a clean MVR. Aptitude in mathematical problem solving. Strong problem‑solving skills for intense manual labor. Follow supervisors' directions. Prioritize safety and remain aware of surroundings. Typical Hours Hours may vary; typical construction schedule is 7:00 am‑5:00 pm, with possible overtime.
