In this role you will act as an advisor to drive strategic growth across two high-priority balance sheet initiatives: private equity backed (sponsored) M&A lending and partnerships with Non-Bank Financial Institutions (NBFIs) to expand product reach and capital distribution.As a member of the Commercial Business Analysis team, you'll work on projects that help position the Commercial Bank for an exciting future. The Commercial Business Analysis team supports the business by leveraging data analysis and model infrastructure to develop competitive LOB strategies that work together to build a resilient and optimal portfolio. Associates should expect to make the case, using internal and external data, for:Expanding or contracting lending in these segmentsAdjusting credit policy metrics or returns thresholds used for loan approvalThe positive/negative impact of individual client relationships over timeDeveloping and launching new lending productsGeneral Responsibilities:Analysis: Identify business challenges and opportunities for improvement and solve for them using analysis to make strategic or tactical recommendationsProduct: Perform modeling/analytics to assist new product and pricing strategies for various lending productsCredit Risk: Support step-change improvements in credit performance by connecting drivers of future consumer credit trends to historical behavior, creating risk models, and testing hypotheses using rigorous monitoring and analysisPartnership: Work closely with colleagues across Capital One including: IT, Sales, Operations, Finance and others to drive improvement in quality, volume, service, and profitabilityStrategic & analytic orientation: A proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics. Conceptual thinking skills must be complemented by a strong quantitative orientation, given that a large part of the business is based on rigorous analytic marketing & credit risk managementStrong communication skills: Impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skillsClear results orientation: display an intense focus on achieving both short and long term goals. He/she should be able to drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environmentSuccessful track record: Ability to thrive in a fast paced, entrepreneurial and dynamic environment. Previous consulting experience is a plusBasic Qualifications:At least 2 years of professional experience performing analysisCurrently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date:A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer engineering, Software engineering, Mechanical engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field)A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentrationPreferred Qualifications:Master's Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering1+ years of experience in Statistical model building1+ years of experience in market research1+ years of experience in SQL querying2+ years of experience in business analysis1+ years of experience in consultingCapital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization for this position.The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location.
