Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:

The OR RN provides specialized perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in a fast-paced environment. They collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered care before, during, and after surgery.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and deliver safe, age-appropriate patient care throughout surgical procedures.
• Function as an advisor and resource for patients, families, and team members.
• Maintain adherence to Maryland-approved trauma course, trauma CEUs, and hospital-specific policies.
• Float within scope to provide coverage across various surgical specialties and units.
• Complete required modules and maintain certifications to meet compliance standards.
• Document clinical interventions and outcomes accurately within the electronic health record system.

Qualifications:

• Valid Maryland or Compact RN license required at the time of submission.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent operating room nursing experience.
• Proficient in trauma, ENT, colorectal, plastics, neurosurgery, and other surgical disciplines.
• Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques, surgical procedures, and perioperative protocols.
• Must be able to pass travel compliance requirements and provide references.
• Ability to work day shifts (11:00 - 23:30) and float within the facility as needed.
