CNC Mill Operator

The CNC Mill Operator is responsible for setting up, programming (as applicable), and operating CNC mills and/or lathes to manufacture precision parts that meet engineering specifications. This role requires the ability to interpret blueprints, perform machine setups, inspect finished parts, and maintain quality and safety standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC mills and/or lathes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and engineering drawings to determine dimensions, tolerances, tooling requirements, and machining sequences.
• Install and secure tooling, fixtures, chucks, and workpieces.
• Adjust machine controls, feeds, speeds, and cutting depths to ensure accurate production.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments, including micrometers and calipers.
• Monitor machining operations and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality standards.
• Perform light assembly, fitting, trimming, and finishing using hand and power tools.
• Complete quality inspections and report defective materials or production issues to supervisors.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area following 5S standards.
• Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and production teams to resolve machining or assembly issues.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools.
• Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
• Ability to stand for most of the shift.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Willingness to rotate between work cells as needed.
• Ability to wear required PPE, including steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection.

Preferred

• At least 1 year of CNC machining experience.
• Experience operating CNC mills and/or lathes in a manufacturing environment.
