Registered Nurse Medical Surgical

Travel RN Med/Surg

Seeking a qualified Travel RN for Med/Surg duties in a busy hospital setting. The role involves providing high-quality patient care on a 7p-7a shift, supporting post-operative burn and wound patients.

Responsibilities:

• Administer comprehensive nursing care to adult patients on the Med/Surg unit.
• Monitor patient conditions and document findings accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and update care plans.
• Perform wound care, dressing changes, and manage wound vacs for post-op burn and flap patients.
• Educate patients and families on post-discharge care procedures.
• Adhere to unit policies, safety protocols, and established best practices.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license with state licensure.
• Possess at least 1 year of recent acute care hospital Med/Surg experience.
• Must have current BLS certification; ACLS and wound care experience preferred.
• Demonstrate strong teamwork, communication, and patient advocacy skills.
• Experience with EMR systems, preferably Meditech.
• Capable of managing patient ratios of 6:1 with LPN support.
