Associate Director – Engineering (Facilities) This role is part of Lilly’s advanced manufacturing facility in Houston, TX, where the successful candidate will lead the strategic planning, development, and execution of all facets of site facilities management. The associate director will guide the startup and growth of a greenfield API manufacturing site, build a high‑performing team, implement systems and processes for GMP operations, and ensure regulatory compliance and operational excellence. Responsibilities Supervise and coach site facilities engineers and staff, conduct performance reviews, and develop career plans. Deliver site facility services and supporting systems across all manufacturing areas. Manage external contracts, resources, and internal technical and project‑management teams as required. Coordinate maintenance activities to support manufacturing operations and site objectives. Plan, schedule, and complete maintenance work in alignment with business needs. Set and reinforce building maintenance and reliability standards with engineering and maintenance. Ensure compliance with corporate maintenance and reliability performance expectations. Participate in cross‑functional meetings, influencing governance and industry best practices. Develop and monitor metrics to measure performance against business objectives. During startup, collaborate to build the organization, implement systems and processes, support lean principles, and provide feedback to the project team. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering (or related field). 3+ years in a leadership role supporting manufacturing, preferably in an API or chemical manufacturing facility. Strong ability to collaborate, make independent decisions, and influence cross‑functional teams. Demonstrated skills in fostering teamwork, coaching, and closing performance gaps. Ability to provide innovative solutions to plant, divisional, and corporate challenges. Compensation & Benefits The anticipated salary range is $123,000 – $180,400. Full‑time employees are also eligible for a company bonus based on company and individual performance.
