INSTALLATION TECHNICIAN
Job Purpose

The Installation Technician is responsible for safely and efficiently installing equipment, structural framing systems, and related components.

This position performs hands-on field labor, including material handling, jobsite preparation, equipment installation, structural support construction, anchoring, layout.

The Installation Technician works as part of a field installation team to complete projects safely, correctly, on schedule, and with minimal rework.

Technical Expertise

· Install operating room lights, equipment booms, and cabinetry, among other structures.

· Lay out equipment locations, attachment points, support frames, and structural assemblies using approved plans and field dimensions.

· Build and install equipment support structures using materials such as:

· Unistrut and channel framing.

· Angle iron.

· Hollow Structural Sections.

· Steel plates.

· Threaded rod.

· Structural fasteners.

· Brackets, braces, and support assemblies

· Pull, install, and terminate various cabling.

· Provide reports for clients, validating test results and work performed

· Learn client-specific systems, enabling client growth and full integration

· Install and mount video monitors.

· Proficient in cable management.

· Basic general construction skills.

Knowledge and abilities

· Ability to travel overnight 80% or more of the time

· Knowledge of electrical and low-voltage systems.

· Ability to read plans and follow the scope of work, installing all equipment to specifications.

· Ability to assess changes in the scope of work and appropriately request a change order.

· Need to be able to use a level, wrench, reciprocating saw, portable hand saw, or hammer drill to install equipment.

· Installation Technicians work a standard work week but may be required to work evenings and weekends to meet project milestones. (Nationwide)

· Ability to work in a crouched or kneeling position and in confined spaces.

· Preferred certifications, such as OSHA 10.

· Ability to lift 70+ pounds.

· Be prepared prior to work to complete jobs with no rework and minimal non-productive time.

· Stops jobs before they become unsafe rather than waiting until the last second.

Compensation

· $20 – $25 per hour, starting, based on experience.
