The Certified Surgical Technologist will prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment according to each procedure’s requirements. The role includes anticipating the needs of surgeons, passing instruments, maintaining sterile technique, and supporting the surgical team throughout preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases. Daily responsibilities also involve verifying patient and procedure information, assisting with surgical counts, handling specimens, and ensuring that equipment is cleaned, sterilized, and properly stored. The technologist will collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to promote safety, efficiency, and high-quality surgical care. Qualifications Demonstrated proficiency in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting in a hospital or surgical center setting. Experience working in the Operating Room, including familiarity with sterile technique, instrumentation, and surgical workflows. Foundational knowledge of Medicine and Surgery relevant to common surgical procedures and perioperative care. Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credential from a recognized certifying body. Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program. Strong attention to detail, ability to follow protocols, and commitment to patient safety and infection control standards. Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary surgical teams in high-pressure environments.
