Warehouse Lead

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for supporting the Logistics Supervisors and Warehouse Manager in the day-to-day operations of the warehouse. This role oversees warehouse associates, coordinates workflow, and ensures efficient receiving, storage, inventory management, and order fulfillment activities. The Warehouse Lead plays a key role in maintaining productivity, accuracy, safety, and operational excellence.

• Lead, train, and support warehouse associates to ensure efficient daily operations.
• Coordinate and delegate work assignments to maximize productivity and order accuracy.
• Foster a positive, collaborative, and safety-focused work environment.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse operations and workflow.
• Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including unloading trucks, inspecting deliveries, and verifying purchase orders.
• Read and interpret customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, and requisitions to determine items for picking and shipment.
• Utilize voice-directed warehousing systems to accurately receive, put away, pick, count, and load inventory.
• Operate cloud-based ERP and voice systems to distribute, monitor, and track work throughout the shift.
• Label inbound inventory and move products from receiving areas to designated storage locations.
• Conduct cycle counts and assist with physical inventory processes.
• Sort and organize materials on racks, shelves, and bins according to established inventory procedures.
• Assemble customer orders and prepare shipments for delivery.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
• Ensure warehouse accessibility and safety for employees, customers, and visitors.
• Perform general facility maintenance duties as needed.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Accurately record inventory transactions and material movement.
• Prepare parcels and shipments for mailing and delivery.
• Perform general housekeeping duties including sweeping, dusting, and mopping.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required.

Experience & Skills

• Previous warehouse experience required; leadership or team lead experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural documents.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and ratios.
• Ability to complete routine reports and correspondence.
• Experience with voice-picking systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of lumber, building materials, and inventory control practices is highly desirable.
• Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, or cloud-based inventory software preferred.

Schedule & Compensation

• Temp-to-Hire opportunity with long-term growth potential.
• Competitive pay ranging from $25.00 to $27.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move throughout the warehouse for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and move materials in accordance with company safety guidelines.
• Ability to work in varying warehouse conditions and temperatures.
