Diagnostic Imaging Urgent Care Technician

Paramedic

Responsible for responding to requests for ALS intervention and for providing emergency medical care in the pre-hospital environment according to Paramedic Protocols and Policies approved by SSHS and the ALS system Medical Director. Performs other duties related to the provision of care and development of the community EMS system.

Compensation Pay Range: $25.25 - $35.36

Essential Functions

• Responds to requests for paramedic services from area departments in a timely and safe manner.
• Completes documentation and records according to department policy.
• Ensures vehicle and equipment are ready for response at all times.
• Renders pre-hospital medical care at the paramedic level.
• Performs assigned duties in the emergency department under the supervision of the ED physicians.
• Acts as a team leader in dealing with emergency responses.
• Takes proper care of vehicle and equipment.
• Pursues new levels in Paramedicine technology and participates in activities which contribute to professional growth and development.
• Participates in community activities which improve the public's understanding of the EMS system.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent

Minimum Work Experience: Prior experience as a provider of pre-hospital care in an emergency setting; Critical care experience preferred/ALS transfers

Required Licenses: VDL - Valid Drivers License; Verification of an acceptable motor vehicle driving record, at time of hire, with annual verification required thereafter.

Required Certifications: EMT- P - Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic; ACLS - EMS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support); BLS - EMS (Basic Life Support)

Preferred (not required) Certifications: PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support; NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program
