Students selected to join IAP have demonstrated uncommon persistence, ingenuity, and maturity by maintaining good academic performance in the face of challenging circumstances. Many IAP students are first-generation college attendees, and all of them join the program from underserved communities or high schools. IAP students rely heavily on program staff as their primary source of support, requiring staff members to provide comprehensive, high-touch services and to be equipped to address a wide range of complex and diverse student needs.
