For additional information on the firm visit Duties and Responsibilities Ribway is currently initiating a search for a Senior Bridge Engineer to join our growing Transportation and Infrastructure Team. This candidate shall: Provide subject matter technical support and leadership for multi-site/phase due diligence, investigation, remediation, improvement, and/or construction of transportation infrastructure projects in the public and private sector. Perform research, design, concept development, planning, and construction of load-bearing structures or structural elements including bridges, roadways, and retaining walls. Provide situational guidance to junior engineers ensuring that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, safety, structural soundness, and functionality. Assist in the management, growth, and development of the company’s bridge design and inspection team. Plan, organize and supervise engineering activities on bridge related projects. Represent projects and the firm at meetings and conferences. Make recommendations on project staffing. Assist with technical concepts in proposal development, preliminary design phases, and presentations to client. Assure that engineering services are commensurate with professional standards, client requirements, budget control scheduling, cost engineering/control, quality control and project objectives. Provide innovative solutions related to the design of bridges, transit structures, and other significant structures required for state highways, county roads, and city streets. Solve project problems in a team environment, particularly where project issues and challenges are significantly affected by the proposed structural solutions. Develop and maintain relationships with owners, contractors, and sub-consultants. Maintain and continue to develop the firm’s reputation for technical excellence in bridge engineering. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline (Master’s Degree is a plus). 10+ years of relevant post education experience in engineering discipline and prior structural or civil design experience. Professional Engineer license required in the State of Ohio (multi-state a plus). Highly proficient with structural engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to project work-related issues. Highly proficient with extensive experience in bridge and infrastructure planning, design, and program/construction management; including project involvement in a variety of rehabilitation and reconstruction, new design, and construction projects. Strong knowledge of relevant structural and civil construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements. Experience with planning and conducting inspections and investigations on various aspects of the construction and design of structures, bridges, applying applicable regulations and policies. Experienced with providing critical review for documents and preparing technical deliverables and plans with a high degree of complexity. Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply technical knowledge to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, computations, statistical analysis and arriving at the most effective, economical, and logical solution. Must be flexible to a variety of schedules to meet business needs and able to prioritize responsibilities and quickly adapt to change in a pressure work environment. Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements. Salary/Compensation Full Time – Compensation commensurate with experience. Minimum $110,000 per year with bonuses.
