About the Position

Operating Room Nurse Registered Nurse Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x10-Hour Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a fast-paced orthopedic surgery center License: South Carolina or Compact License Certifications: BLS, Clienttion badge provided by parent company Must-Have: Proficiency in lower and upper extremity total joints, foot & ankle, hand/wrist, shoulder/elbow, and open and arthroscopic sports surgeries. Description: The shift consists of 10 hours, four times a week, from 6:30 AM to 5 PM. Scheduled days off will be determined by the needs of the department, but special requests will be considered if possible. There may be a few scheduled late stays each month. On-call is not required. There is a possibility of floating within the Perioperative facility based on department needs. Candidates must have experience in handling orthopedic surgeries. Familiarity with high volume surgical procedures and the use of integrated surgical systems is essential. The recovery process involves monitoring patients' vital signs and providing discharge instructions. The unit cares for a variety of patients, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The daily census ranges from 10 to 20 patients across five operating rooms. Candidates should be well-rounded in specialties that align with the caseload. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment is necessary. Immediate engagement is required for the administration of patient medications and monitoring the recovery process. Collaboration with surgical teams to ensure safe and effective patient care is vital. The unit primarily focuses on orthopedic procedures, very limited spine surgery, and rehabilitation procedures. Standard operating room equipment will be utilized extensively.
