Pipeline Engineer II & III

Job Overview

Nexiya is seeking experienced Pipeline Engineers for our Engineer II and Engineer III openings to support our utility client’s engineering and pipeline design initiatives in their Los Angeles office location. This position will contribute to the full design lifecycle by developing high-quality technical drawings, schematics, and 3D models that meet engineering standards, regulatory requirements, industry codes, and client expectations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and review of 3D piping models, piping layouts, and associated design documentation.
• Develop and manage 3D piping models using Autodesk AutoCAD Plant 3D.
• Create and maintain intelligent P&IDs in accordance with engineering requirements and project standards.
• Produce accurate orthographic and isometric drawings from 3D models.
• Prepare high-quality technical drawings and schematics throughout the design lifecycle.
• Support the design and documentation of high-pressure pipeline systems.
• Interpret engineering concepts, specifications, and technical requirements and translate them into clear, precise drawings and models.
• Maintain AutoCAD Plant 3D project databases and ensure design information remains accurate and consistent.
• Review drawings and models for accuracy, completeness, constructability, and compliance with company standards and applicable industry codes.
• Coordinate with engineers, designers, project teams, and other disciplines to resolve design issues and incorporate project requirements.
• Ensure drawings and design documentation meet engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
• Adapt to changing project requirements and support multiple engineering and drafting disciplines as needed.
• Participate in design reviews and incorporate revisions and technical feedback into drawings and models.
• Maintain organized and accurate project documentation throughout the design process.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Engineer II: Minimum 2 years of strong technical drafting and design experience with 3D piping models.
• Engineer III: Minimum 10 years of strong technical drafting and design experience with 3D piping models.
• Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD Plant 3D required.
• Experience creating intelligent P&IDs and producing orthographic and isometric drawings.
• Experience developing piping layouts and related technical documentation.
• Experience supporting the design and documentation of high-pressure pipeline systems.
• Strong ability to interpret engineering concepts, specifications, and technical requirements and translate them into clear, precise drawings.
• Knowledge of applicable engineering standards, industry codes, and drafting practices.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve drawing and model discrepancies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, designers, project teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and adapt to changing project priorities.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to continuous learning and expanding technical drafting and design expertise.
• Must be able to successfully pass the background screening process.
• Candidate must be able to commute to Los Angeles office 1-2 days/ week.
• The candidate must be eligible to work in the U.S.

Location: 1-2 days a week onsite in Los Angeles office, remote for remaining days.

Pay Range:

Engineer II: Between $44-49/hour

Engineer III: Between $55-65/hour
