REPORTS TO: Spa Manager

DEPARTMENT: Spa

FLSA STATUS: This is a part-time or full-time, commission-based ; non-exempt position

TYPICAL WORK SCHEDULE (DAYS/HRS PER WEEK): TBD
JOB PURPOSE: Provides professional nail care treatments for the Spa and is involved in the spa and guest services operation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Performs expert nail care treatments. All treatments are to be performed to specific guidelines.
  • Utilizes product efficiently, maintains product inventory and cleanliness. Completes commission reports accurately and timely.
  • Provides knowledge to the guest for continued nail care utilizing products sold at the Spa.
  • Provide appropriate nail care treatments based on the desire and health of the guest. Do not change the type of treatment without the consent of the guest.
  • Provide professional nail care treatments in accordance with industry practices and a consistent manner with the spa. Provide all guests with consistent services for up to an 8-hour period. Treatment durations include 25 and 50 minutes.
  • Properly educate guests in regards to a Spa treatment and recommend appropriate products for each service given and other spa services.
  • Maintain a clean and well-stocked environment in nail care treatment area according to Department of Health and Departmental Standards.
  • Cleans and disinfects all equipment on a daily basis.
  • Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Highest level of competence in nail care services for both hands and feet and has a complete understanding of all spa services presently offered.
  • Excellent human relations skills.
  • Able to communicate with the general public in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Must be flexible and adapt easily.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic and motivational.
  • Strong team player.
  • Must be comfortable with product recommendation.
  • Demonstrated competence in specialty nail treatments
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Must follow safety precautions and requirements.
REQUIRED EDUCATION OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1-3 years nail care experience in a resort, private club or upscale salon.
  • Valid Cosmetology license as required by the of New Mexico.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Sitting 100%.
  • Ability to grasp, lift, push, pull, and carry or otherwise move materials weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to move throughout building, bend, stoop, and reach on a continuous basis up to an 8-hour shift.
  • Required to work weekends, holidays, and overtime.
