We are seeking an experienced, organized, and highly motivated Litigation Paralegal to join plaintiff personal injury law firm. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast paced environment, can independently manage a high volume caseload, and has extensive litigation experience from case inception through trial preparation.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Create, organize, maintain, and manage litigation case files.
- Coordinate and manage the firm's daily court calendar.
- Manage attorneys' calendars, appointments, deadlines, and reminders.
- Ensure all court deadlines and filing requirements are met.
- Communicate with clients, courts, insurance companies, medical providers, and opposing counsel.
- Handle a high volume of incoming and outgoing telephone calls and correspondence.
- Electronically file legal documents in New York State and Federal Courts.
- Draft, prepare, process, file, and serve legal documents, including:
- Summons & Complaint
- Bills of Particulars
- Demands & Responses
- Notices of Appearance
- Motions
- Notices of Issue
- Other litigation documents
- Prepare, process, and respond to discovery demands and discovery responses.
- Assist attorneys with litigation strategy, trial preparation, and case management.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of litigation paralegal experience in plaintiff personal injury law.
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Paralegal Certificate preferred, but not required.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a significant plus.
- Strong knowledge of New York State and Federal court filing procedures.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
- Self-motivated, dependable, detail oriented, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
