Illuminating Steps, LLC is a behavioral consultation practice dedicated to helping students achieve success through evidence-based behavioral interventions. We partner with school districts to provide high-quality Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services, Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), staff training, and consultation designed to improve student outcomes.

Position Summary

Illuminating Steps, LLC is seeking a motivated, collaborative, and compassionate Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to provide behavioral consultation services in school settings. The BCBA will work closely with administrators, teachers, related service providers, and families to assess challenging behaviors, develop effective intervention plans, and support implementation through ongoing consultation and coaching.

Essential Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs).
• Develop individualized, data-driven Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
• Analyze behavioral data and make recommendations based on student progress.
• Provide classroom observations and behavioral consultations.
• Train and coach teachers, teaching assistants, and support staff in ABA strategies and behavior management techniques.
• Develop measurable behavioral goals and objectives for IEPs.
• Participate in Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings as needed.
• Provide parent consultation and support regarding behavior intervention strategies.
• Supervise Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) when applicable.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and professional documentation, including session notes, consultation reports, and assessment reports.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ensure compliance with all ethical standards, district policies, and state regulations.

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) .
• Current New York State Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) credential (or eligibility to obtain licensure).
• Master's degree in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
• Experience conducting FBAs and developing BIPs.
• Strong knowledge of ABA principles and evidence-based interventions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with school personnel.
• Reliable transportation for travel between school sites.
