The full-time faculty, in collaboration with the Dental Center Director and other faculty, will be integral in the success of the program. Consistent with the Dental Hygiene Program values of community built on learning, mutual respect, and diversity, the candidate should demonstrate strong skills in team building and collaboration across the dental and health sciences disciplines. The ideal candidate will be a welcoming and enthusiastic individual focused on student success by incorporating an innovative teaching approach.\n \nMinimum Qualifications:\n• Graduate of a CODA-accredited dental hygiene program. \n • Bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene or related field. \n • Current Colorado Dental Hygiene license, or current RDH license in another state and eligibility to acquire Colorado RDH license. \n • Current Colorado Local Anesthesia Permit or eligibility to acquire the permit. \n • Diode Laser certification through an accredited organization or the ability to obtain the certificate. \n • Minimum of two full-time equivalent years of clinical dental hygiene experience. \n • Current CPR certification \n • Must possess or be eligible to obtain a Colorado Career and Technical Education (CTE) Teaching Credential \n • Must possess strong proficiency in various dental related technologies and software programs or the ability and willingness to train in these areas.\nPreferred Qualifications:\n• Master's degree in a related field. \n • 1+ year(s) clinical and/or didactic teaching experience in dental hygiene. \n • Experience in curriculum design and mapping and/or instructional design. \n • Documented background in current educational methodology concepts in higher education.\nDuties & Responsibilities:\nInstruction and Student Engagement \n • Demonstrates a strong commitment to effective teaching and student learning. \n • Employs a variety of evidence-based instructional strategies to support diverse learning styles and levels of student goals. \n • Relates course content to real-world dental hygiene practice. \n • Maintains a positive, respectful, and empathetic learning environment that supports student success. \n Classroom, Laboratory, Pre-Clinical, and Clinical Performance \n • Plans, organizes, and delivers course content aligned with approved course objectives and program outcomes. \n • Communicates course material clearly and effectively in classroom, laboratory, preclinical, and clinical settings. \n • Demonstrates enthusiasm for both the subject matter and the faculty role. \n • Integrates instructional technology and learning management systems to enhance student learning and competency development. \n • Maintains appropriate classroom and clinical order, professionalism, infection control, and safety standards. \n Course Materials, Preparation, and Assessment\n • Develops, maintains, and updates course syllabi in accordance with College, State, and CODA requirements. \n • Collaborates with the Dental Center Director to develop and maintain laboratory, preclinical, and clinical schedules. \n • Reviews and updates course materials to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with current professional standards. \n • Clearly communicates course objectives, expectations, grading criteria, and evaluation methods to students in writing. \n • Utilizes appropriate assessment strategies aligned with course content and learning outcomes. \n • Incorporates supplemental instructional resources and technology to support student learning. \n • Participates in department and college-level assessment of student learning outcomes as required. \n Student Support, Advising, and Instructional Management \n • Maintains scheduled office hours and provides regular academic support to students. \n • Maintains accurate, timely, and confidential student records in accordance with College policies and procedures. \n • Meets all assigned classes and instructional responsibilities as scheduled. \n • Submits required reports, documentation, and instructional materials in a timely manner. \n • Attends required department, divisional, and calibration meetings. \n Professionalism and Collaboration \n • Maintains current knowledge of discipline-specific practices, licensure requirements, and pedagogical best practices. \n • Collaborates effectively and professionally with faculty, staff, administrators, and clinical partners. \n • Communicates respectfully and constructively when problem-solving or addressing concerns.\n • Works to resolve conflicts in an atmosphere of mutual respect and professionalism. \n • Contributes to a collegial, inclusive, and student-centered educational environment. \n Program, Department, and College Contributions \n • Assists with curriculum review, revision, development, and implementation within the department. \n • Supports the development and maintenance of course outlines and syllabi. \n • Participates in textbook selection and adoption. \n • Assists with student advising, registration, recruitment, and retention activities. \n • Supports and participates in program advisory committee activities as appropriate. \n • Participates in professional development activities and meets re-licensure requirements. • Assists with program review and accreditation activities, including CODA processes. Professional Service and Additional Responsibilities \n • Serves on college, department, discipline, and community committees and task forces as assigned.\n • Assists with divisional and departmental initiatives as requested by leadership. \n • Supports the development and implementation of alternative instructional delivery methods (e.g., online or hybrid formats) as appropriate. \n • Assists with mentoring and training of new faculty and instructional staff. \n • Participates in pinning and graduation ceremonies. \n • Performs other duties as assigned by the Dental Center Director, Dean, Vice President for Instructional Services, and/or College President. \n Regular Faculty work under the direction of their respective Associate Dean/Division Dean and are responsible for meeting all scheduled classes/labs/clinics and providing instruction in accordance with the philosophy and objectives of the College and the Department Chair's approved course outline. Regular Faculty are also responsible for using teaching methods and media designed to reach students of varying educational and experiential backgrounds to allow each student the opportunity to master the objectives of the course.\n Regular Faculty are required to serve a provisional period from the date of employment until the completion of employment under three consecutive full year regular contracts. \n This position may require working in virtual, weekend, evening, or various campus locations. Successful candidate must be willing to teach concurrent enrollment both on PPSC campuses and in local area high schools.\nCompetencies/KSAs:\nFaculty/Student Interaction\n Demonstrates a commitment Participate in all aspects of department and/or college level assessment of student learning outcomes in general education and career/technical courses and programs as required.\n Record keeping and Instructional Management\n Keep scheduled office hours, including providing regular student office hours.\n Meets classes as scheduled for prescribed time. \n Submits required reports and documents.\n Attends required Divisional meetings. \n Professionalism \n Seeks to maintain a high quality of instruction by remaining current on discipline specific and pedagogical issues.\n Collaborates with the promotion of an excellent educational climate within the college as a whole, as well as within the division and department.\n Promoting Division/College Quality of Instruction \n Assist, as requested, with the development of the term class schedule and the college catalog.\n Assist with curriculum review, revision, development and implementation within the department.\n Assist in the development and maintenance of course outlines and course syllabi.\n Assist in textbook selection and adoption.\n Assist with student advising and student registration.\n Maintain a program advisory committee, as appropriate.\n Participate in professional development activities as requested by the dean.\n Assist with program reviews as required by appropriate agencies, e.g., NCA.\n Professional Contributions \n Serve on college discipline, department, and community committees and task forces on behalf of the college.\n Assist with Divisional activities as requested by the dean.\n Assist with student recruitment as appropriate.\n Assist with the development and implementation of alternative modes of instructional delivery, e.g., Internet or ITV, as appropriate.\n Perform other duties as assigned by the dean, the Vice President for Instructional Services and/or the College President. \n General Duties \n • Demonstrates cultural competence and commitment to helping to close the student equity gap at our institution. \n • Demonstrates an understanding of evidence-based, inclusive teaching strategies and curriculum development for the classroom and/or pre-clinical/clinical environment. \n • Demonstrates ability to plan, organize, deliver, and evaluate teaching activities and curriculum. \n • Maintains good order and discipline in the classroom/laboratory/pre-clinical/clinical settings\n • Maintains instructional equipment, infection control and safety protocols, and supply inventories. \n • Practices resource conservation by avoiding the wasteful use of supplies, utilities, equipment, and other resources. \n • Instructs and supervises students in the practice of resource conservation. \n • Serves as the coordinating faculty for the assigned cohort of students during pre-clinic and/or clinic, and related board examinations. \n • Demonstrates ability to employ qualitative and quantitative analytical skills in the classroom, lab, pre-clinic/clinic. \n • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills. \n • Demonstrates ability to maintain accurate written student records as required by policy and procedure. \n • Demonstrates ability to inform students of all course requirements. \n • Demonstrates ability to evaluate students and offer feedback on a continuing basis. \n • Demonstrates ability to relate to student concerns and maintain open communication. \n • Demonstrates ability to work effectively with diverse populations.\nSelection Process:\nFor full consideration, all application
