Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1.5-2+ years in Step Down and MS/Tele License: Required Certifications: BCLS, ACLS Must-Have: Must be able to read telemetry strips Description: Step Down / Immediate Care Unit RN for Day shift. Schedule consists of 3 shifts per week, from 07:00 to 19:00. Typically, the nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4, with flexibility for a ratio of 1:5 in emergencies. Holidays off requests are limited to no more than 2 of the 4 major holidays. Travel experience is not required. Blocked schedules will be considered, primarily for weekends. Scrubs are to be burgundy and/or white. Experience with telemetry is essential. The patient demographic includes adults and geriatrics, with a daily census of 34 patients. The unit accommodates 36 beds, with patients primarily requiring cardiac care and medical-surgical support. Interdisciplinary support is provided by various teams including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and more. Candidates must have experience in managing a variety of patient needs, including cardiac telemetry and post-operative care. Additional patient care experience, including IV management and the ability to interpret dysrhythmias, is required. This role involves regular contact with rapid response teams and direct patient care related to cardiac conditions.
