AHSA - Locum - PA - Trauma Surgery - Robbinsdale, MN

Locum NP/PA Opportunity

North Memorial Health is seeking a locum NP/PA for dates of coverage from May to July. The position involves full-time work primarily functioning as a trauma hospitalist rounder. The role may include some intermittent ED consults, trauma activations, and procedures work. For those with surgical and trauma critical care experience, there may be additional needs. Call ratio is no call, in-house only. Average number of patients per day ranges from 10-14 admitted patients to round on if non-ICU, 6 if ICU, admitting/ED can be 2-15 per 24 hours. The documentation system/EMR is EPIC. The trauma level is a Level I adult that cares for Pediatrics. The APP will be working autonomously, and a supervising physician, specifically a trauma surgeon, is present 24-hour per day. Patient age demographic is 0-100+, but primarily adult and adolescent. Preferred local providers - only mileage is reimbursed.

Required procedures include non-invasive vent management (bipap/cpap), ventilation management, chest tube insertion, central line, arterial line, and suturing minor lacerations.

Required of the APP:

• Responding to the ED for trauma alerts
• Facilitating discharges
• ER admissions
• Daily rounding and management of all conditions- we do not use hospitalists. Need to be fully able to be attending on all patient conditions

Additional required procedures/responsibilities include guidelines and non-clinical expectations for tracking. North Memorial does not reimburse for credentialing costs or application fees.

• Board certified (ACNP, AGNP, PA-C) - [REQUIRED]
• No FNPs, only Acute Care NP or PA - [REQUIRED]
• MN license - [REQUIRED] at time of name clear
• ATLS, PALS, ACLS - [REQUIRED]
• NOC shift 7p-7:30a - [REQUIRED]
• Local candidate - [PREFERRED]
• DEA - Verbal confirmation [REQUIRED] at time of name clear
• A self-query NPDB report is required at the time of presentation and must be pulled within the same month as the submission. - [REQUIRED]
• Minimum 1 year of practice as an APP in the inpatient setting, optimally with trauma, ICU, and/or orthopedics. - [REQUIRED]
