About this role

Join a commercial construction crew in Austin as a Concrete Carpenter. You will build, set, brace, and strip formwork for foundations, slabs, walls, footings, and columns on site. Work is hands-on, outdoors, and focused on quality, safety, and keeping projects on schedule. This role requires solid formwork skills, the ability to read civil and technical drawings, and a team-first attitude. Typical schedule is day shifts on commercial projects (M-F with possible overtime); experienced carpenters may lead small crews and take on more complex tasks and layout responsibility.

What you'll do

• Build, set, brace, and strip formwork for foundations, slabs, walls, footings, and columns to plans and specifications.
• Read and follow blueprints, civil drawings, layouts, grades, elevations, measurements, and project specs.
• Measure, mark, cut, assemble, and install lumber, plywood, and form hardware; set and check grades and alignments.
• Operate hand and power tools safely (saws, nail guns, drills, levels); maintain tools and basic equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area, follow site safety procedures, report hazards, and communicate with crew and foreman; lead small crews on larger tasks when assigned.

What we're looking for

• Previous experience as a concrete carpenter or form builder on commercial construction projects.
• Proven ability building, setting, bracing, and stripping concrete formwork for slabs, walls, footings, columns, and related structures.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, civil layouts, grades, elevations, and specifications.
• Skilled measuring, cutting, and layout work; ability to use hand and power tools accurately.
• Physically able to lift heavy materials, work at heights, and perform sustained manual labor in outdoor conditions; reliable transportation to Austin job sites.

Qualifications

• OSHA 10-hour construction card preferred (or equivalent site safety training).
• First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites; ability to travel locally as needed.
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Spanish language skills are a plus.
