Fire Alarm Systems Technician

Locations Minneapolis, MN; Shoreview, MN; Norcross, GA; Raleigh, NC Position Summary This role supports our Shoreview, MN branch location, which serves customers throughout the greater Minneapolis area. Fire Alarm Technicians play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our Smart Buildings by installing, programming, commissioning, and maintaining fire alarm systems, mass notification systems, and related field peripherals. Responsibilities Assist with the commissioning of new fire alarm systems on construction ensuring seamless integration Assist with testing and inspecting existing fire alarm systems Plan work with mentor, Lead Technician, and Team Leader Complete commissioning within planned timelines Submit accurate time and expense logs Work overtime when needed and overnight travel may occasionally be required Basic Qualifications Electro‑mechanical experience (either from a previous role or through education) and user PC/software skill; proficient in Microsoft Office Ability to differentiate wire colors; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted Must obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level 1 within 18 months Must be 18 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license with limited violations, and meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens' fleet vehicle program Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or state‑recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred Ability to read/understand design and construction documents Pay Range The pay range for this position is $46,553 – $79,805 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and geographic location.
