Visual Merchandising Manager

Your Work Matters The Visual Merchandising Manager is responsible for the conceptualization, development, communication, and implementation of the comprehensive visual merchandising components and standards of Floor & Decor (F&D) stores. Responsibilities Present Floor & Decor in a unified, consistent, and inspiring way while delivering timing and financial goals for specific projects, businesses, and/or spaces. Drive cross‑functional engagements and partnerships to ensure a 360° approach to all visual merchandising initiatives, collaborating with the NSVM Project Management team for fixture compatibility, the Merchant/Buying team for visioning of product marketing, the Creative/Marketing team for branding consistency and signage creation, and the Operations/Safety team to ensure the execution and safety standards are met. Lead new visual merchandising development, ensuring both creative and operational visual processes are met from conception to implementation. Develop visual merchandising floor sets, coordinate prototype reviews with key stakeholders, and ensure planograms and adjacency flows align with the overall vision and standards. Partner with Store Planning, Project Managers NSVM, and Construction on the layout and function of new stores, remodels, and category initiatives, fixture packages, and applicable department updates to elevate the store experience. Understand strategic merchandising initiatives for each Merchant/Buyer and develop visual concepts accordingly. Partner with Regional Merchandising Teams, Store CEMs, Project Managers, and the field team for NSVM to ensure high‑quality execution of visual ideas by providing vision and tools, creating communications, training content, and performing audits. Support the Senior Director, NSVM for senior leadership alignment walk‑throughs. Teach and train stores on the execution of the VSG through the Regional Merchandising group, providing feedback and best practices on store walks and participating in regional trainings when needed. Determine new ways to create strategic visual merchandising solutions that inspire customers and draw them into specific key categories. Work strategically with cross‑functional teams (Merchants/Buyers, Store Planning and Allocation, Creative/Marketing, Store Operations, the Field, and Vendor Community) to develop standards for in‑store presentations grounded in customer insights. Partner with the Store Project Budget & Planning Manager to ensure financial objectives are met by forecasting requirements, preparing budgets, scheduling expenditures, and analyzing variances. Track personal expenses and code appropriately, on time and within SOP guidelines, managing invoices as needed and tracking compliance to budget for all existing store projects. Develop budgets, track actual spend, and communicate to the Store Project Budget & Planning Manager. Develop and manage prototypes and the review process, including fixture documentation for cataloging all components. Lead visual presentation innovation and re‑invent/refresh projects. Keep the Visual Standards Guide up to date and available for store access through collaboration with the Merchant/Buyer group, Operations/Safety, Merch Ops, NSVM, Creative, and PRO Team. Document walks, meetings, and updates and communicate them back to the Senior Director, New Stores & Visual Merchandising to ensure alignment of goals, aiding in proper and timely follow‑up of tasks. Develop executable timelines to complete projects and communicate these to the Senior Director, New Stores & Visual Merchandising. Provide updates for the CPAR process for store projects and documentation to the Store Project Budget & Planning Manager. Deliver strong leadership by hiring, developing, coaching, mentoring, and effective succession planning for associates, focusing on evolving associates’ business acumen, ensuring they deliver on key responsibilities by role, and personal development plans. Recap and communicate all updates on current and future projects to responsible partners and department teams. Respond to emails and calls within 24 hours. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Visual Merchandising, Art, Design, or related field and/or equivalent work experience. Three years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job. Two or more years of project‑management software experience. Two or more years of design‑software experience (AutoCAD, Google SketchUp, or similar). Proven problem‑solving and team‑building skills. Excellent organizational skills and ability to create innovative solutions. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite. Exempt‑level experience involving project management: planning, budgeting, monitoring, and appraising various aspects of tasks related to projects. Flexibility, resiliency, and nimbleness; comfortable working in “grey areas” that are constantly changing. Attention to detail and strong organizational ability. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence without direct authority and build effective partnerships. Comfortable taking risks, working through ambiguity, and making decisions quickly. Ability to multi‑task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast‑paced environment. Working Conditions (Travel, Hours, Environment) 30%-50% travel required, including air and car travel. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate. Physical/Sensory Requirements Mostly sedentary work. Ability to exert 10-20 pounds of force occasionally or negligible force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. All duties are essential job functions and subject to reasonable accommodation.
