Litigation Paralegal / Legal Assistant
Salary: $85,000 - $105,000 | Downtown San Diego, CA | Fully On-Site

A respected downtown San Diego law firm is seeking an experienced Temporary Litigation Paralegal / Legal Assistant to support its growing litigation practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a versatile legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable handling both substantive paralegal responsibilities and legal administrative support.

The firm represents employers and businesses in a variety of matters, including employment law, business litigation, and transactional matters, with a primary focus on defense-side representation.
Schedule

• Fully on-site in Downtown San Diego

Responsibilities

• Prepare, format, file, and serve pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents
• Manage state and federal court filings, including e-filing through OneLegal
• Maintain attorney calendars and monitor litigation deadlines
• Assist attorneys through all phases of litigation, from case inception through resolution
• Draft, revise, proofread, and format legal documents using Microsoft Word
• Coordinate service of process and court filings
• Provide backup legal secretary and administrative support as needed
• Communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel

Qualifications
Required

• Minimum 5 years of litigation paralegal and/or legal assistant experience
• Strong electronic filing experience, preferably using OneLegal
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word
• Experience preparing pleadings, motions, and discovery documents
• Strong litigation calendaring and deadline management skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

• Paralegal Certificate
• Experience performing both paralegal and legal assistant/secretarial functions
• Employment law or defense-side litigation experience
