Responsible for the development and implementation of the Company's public relations, promotions and media strategies. Builds the Company's public image to ensure a positive reputation and corporate identity. Strengthens awareness, perception and reputation of RHP at every touchpoint. Works closely with the executive team, internal departments and external partners in a creative, collaborative and strategic role in building a cohesive public relations and brand management strategy.

As a communications manager, you will:

• Write and distribute press releases, media kits, and corporate messaging for property portfolios.
• Partner with creative teams and internal stakeholders to create brand values and attributes through words, graphics and design, reflecting the mission and vision of the organization.
• Ensure public-facing messaging aligns with corporate values across marketing materials and social media platforms.
• Build and maintain relationships with local, regional, and industry media to secure positive coverage for new property openings, expansions, and corporate milestones.
• Strategize, develop and execute cohesive public relations strategy and identity. Manage the development and messaging of the PR narrative.
• Manage reputation and draft response strategies during property emergencies, tenant disputes, or legal challenges. Control the narrative and respond quickly to negative publicity or public concerns.
• Track news coverage and analyze public opinion using social listening tools and other resources.
• Self-educate and stay current on industry trends and competitor activity.
• Model a people-centered brand approach promoting the Company's activities to support the community and promote goodwill.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in public relations or relevant business discipline, or satisfactory combination of formal education and work experience.
• 5 years relevant work experience; prior multi-family residential experience preferred
• Superior communications ability with highly developed writing, editing and researching skills
• Articulate and persuasive communicator, written and oral
• Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions. Possesses an analytical mindset with a strong understanding of underlying data and methodologies used to influence decision making.
• Ability to respond and react immediately in the event of a crisis
• Understanding of digital channels
• Broad knowledge of the overarching public relations and communications discipline
• Knowledge of web analytics and software like Google Analytics and Google Adwords
• In-depth knowledge of best design and messaging practices for press releases and business correspondence
• Innovation and creativity in developing ways to promote the company
• Understanding of fast-paced and ever-changing environments
• Self-starter with the ability to lead this segment of the business
• Energetic, self-reliant, self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Proactive and process-driven, with the ability to think ahead to the full scope of projects and deliver work on time and accurately
• Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with co-workers at all levels
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Ability to carry out instructions furnished in verbal or written format
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
